CTU rector paid millions to the president’s advisor
Vojtěch Petráček, the longtime rector of the Czech Technical University (CTU), who faces dismissal on Wednesday, has been using the services of an adviser to President Petr Kolář since at least 2022. The rectorate and the faculties paid nearly CZK 4 million to the former ambassador to Russia and the US and now a prominent private consultant on Petráček’s instructions. This is despite the fact that Kolář otherwise provides his services free of charge to public institutions such as the National Museum and the Academy of Performing Arts.
