A doctor treated a patient with the opioid Dolsin, then swindled him out of 11 million crowns

Doctor who caused patient’s opioid addiction sentenced to 7.5 years in prison

Doctor Pavel Brejla is to go to prison for seven and a half years for knowingly causing his patient to become severely addicted to an opiate. The Prague Municipal Court ruled today. In addition to the jail sentence, the court also fined Pavel Brejla seven million crowns, banned him from work for ten years and ordered him to return all the gifts that his patient gave him over the years. Among other things, electronics or a personal car. The judge justified the verdict by the fact that the doctor deliberately did not consult any specialist and administered the drug dolsin, although highly addictive, to the patient in excessive quantities on an almost daily basis.
