Operation Twilight: Kaliňák detained. With Fico they are accused of forming a criminal group
NAKA arrested former Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák at 10.10 a.m. today. He was accused, together with former Prime Minister Robert Fico, of founding and organising a criminal group. However, Fico was not detained because this requires the consent of the National Council. Kaliňák’s lawyer could not say after the questioning whether the police would ask for custodial prosecution. The two, along with lawyer Marek Paro, Nitra businessman Norbert Bödör and former police president Tibor Gaspar, are accused not only of forming a criminal group but also of the crime of endangering tax secrecy. The case is related to the Purgatory case.
