A survey of nursing homes showed who most often torments them. It’s not the family
What goes on inside homes for the elderly is more complicated than it appears on the surface. Violence in the broad sense of the word is most often perpetrated by clients against each other, but also by relatives, according to staff surveys. A total of 973 professionals from homes for the elderly and homes with special needs responded anonymously about the prevalence of violence against elderly clients. The results show that the most frequent perpetrators of violence against seniors are other clients and then relatives.
