The Czechs are the rich men of Eastern Europe. We are twice as well off as the Slovaks
Czechs are the richest in Eastern Europe. Their net financial assets are two and a half times higher than those of the Slovaks. This is according to an international study on global wealth published by the Allianz Group. In the world ranking, the Czechs improved two places compared to the previous year, holding 26th place. The growth of financial assets of Czech households reached 4.4 percent in 2017 compared to 6.8 percent in 2016. The average net wealth per capita in the Czech Republic last year was EUR 15,290, or roughly CZK 390,000 at the current exchange rate. The year before, it was 12,360 euros, or CZK 330,000 at the exchange rate at the time.
