Miners from OKD have already lost the promised apartments at residual value; now the issue is how to deny them their severance pay as well

State will not pay 600 million to miners if OKD contract expires

The state will not have to pay CZK 600 million for the social programmes of the dismissed miners from the Paskov mine if the government’s contract with the mining company OKD expires early, i.e. before 2017. In that case, the money will be paid to the miners by OKD, said Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek (ČSSD) on Sunday in Prima.
