“I don’t know what I’ve been spending money on.” Ex-mayor leaves small village millions in debt
A surprise awaited the new leadership of a small village in the Rakovník region after the local elections. Nine million crowns disappeared from the municipal account under the former mayor. The village was saved from bankruptcy by the regional councillors who approved a loan of 10 million. The case is now being investigated by the police, with the former mayor admitting guilt.
