Surprised Fiala. “You don’t care about the voice of businessmen,” he heard from the head of a well-known liquor company
At a meeting with his supporters, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala admitted that he has been meeting with entrepreneurs who are questioning what his government has actually done for them. Fiala recently encountered one such person in Zlín, where Pavel Dvořáček, the head of the well-known Rudolf Jelínek liquor factory in Vizovice, complained that the government apparently does not care about the voice of entrepreneurs. But according to Fialy, the government is doing a lot for entrepreneurs.
Note: Social inhibition: one is afraid to express disapproval for fear of rejection, humiliation, or conflict, especially toward someone who is “higher status” or has more influence. Self-censorship: When people ban themselves from certain ideas or speech because they anticipate a negative reaction from a more powerful party. Spiral of silence (Noelle-Neumann): People remain silent because they feel that their opinion is in the minority or might be socially unacceptable – mainly because of the influence of the media or public opinion.
