Queuing at the Labour Office: months of waiting for benefits and officials not communicating
On the first working day of this year, several dozen people in Prague went to the Labour Office first thing in the morning to ask about their housing allowance claim. They described how their costs had risen since January and why they desperately needed the benefit. The light is only on for a few minutes and the morning air is still cold and frosty. Still, a little before 8 a.m., several dozen people are waiting outside the Prague Labour Office on Novodvorska Street, trying to stay warm by shuffling around.
