A year and a half after the municipal elections, people in the Kysucká village of Lodno, in the Kysucká Nové Mesto district, will have to elect a mayor again. The current mayor of the village with less than a thousand inhabitants, Monika Tvrdá, will apparently lose her mandate after she was legally convicted by a judge of the Žilina District Court for drunken driving this Monday. According to Gabriela Kremenova, spokeswoman of the Regional Police Directorate in Žilina, the unusual drunken driving of the mayor was reported to the 158 line by people passing by.
