Purchases in IKEM: the device costs €16,000 thousand, the hospital pays €32 thousand
The anti-corruption police are investigating purchases of medical supplies at Prague’s elite IKEM hospital. They are verifying suspicions that the “anonymous” trading company Kardio Port is supplying the material for up to twice the price of the manufacturer. According to Aktuálně.cz, Kardio Port can buy a defibrillator from the manufacturer for CZK 400 000, but IKEM will pay CZK 800 000 for the same device. IKEM buys CZK 400 million worth of material annually in this way.
