A judge in Bratislava failed to explain 700,000 euros in his sons’ bank accounts. He is likely to lose his judicial position.
The disciplinary panel had no choice but to unanimously propose the dismissal of Bratislava judge Milan Chalupka from his position. The ruling is not final. The case began with a complaint from the National Criminal Agency in 2022, and it ended with a decision from the disciplinary panel of the Supreme Administrative Court. On Wednesday, the panel recommended the removal of judge Milan Chalupka (52) from office. If this decision becomes final, the judge of the Bratislava Regional Court will become the first judge in Slovakia to be removed for failing to convincingly explain the origin of his wealth.
