Do Austrians and Germans have cheaper food than us? Analysts have published surprising figures
The Institute of Economic and Social Analysis has come up with an analysis of food prices in the European Union countries. It shows that food in Austria and Germany was 7 percent more expensive than in Slovakia in 2022. “Food in other European countries is of better quality and cheaper than in Slovakia.” Let anyone who has heard a politician utter that sentence at least once raise their hand. However, according to the Institute of Economic and Social Analysis (INESS), this statement, or at least the part about prices, is just a legend that politicians repeat in order to sell their guaranteed solutions to the electorate.
