According to agrarian analyst Petr Havel, the price of eggs will rise due to the spread of bird flu in the Czech Republic and the massive culling of hundreds of thousands of laying hens. “Seven crowns per egg will probably not be anything exceptional, on the contrary, it will be common,” Havel told iDNES.cz on Thursday. The Agriculture Ministry has said that compensation to breeders for the destruction of the large breeding farm in the Tachov region will be between CZK 175 million and CZK 220 million.
