Arco café: from an artists’ retreat to a self-service dining room
At the beginning of the last century it was one of the most famous cafés in Prague, frequented by almost every artist in the city. Before the First World War, Czech and German intellectuals mixed here, and during the war there was a sense of belonging and resistance to the conflict. However, the strong flame of the Arco Café quickly burned out and today only memories and connoisseurs remember this famous Prague establishment.
