Police with radar would have a bumper crop here. The start of D1 is no longer a motorway and it’s confusing drivers
Since the New Year, the first five kilometres of the D1 motorway from Prague to Brno have been turned into a road for motor vehicles. If it wasn’t for one tweet from the Directorate of Roads and Motorways, few people would have noticed. As we have seen for ourselves, the road markings here have largely remained original and confuse drivers to no end. Not long ago, cars without a vignette going from Prague to Brno were legally allowed to drive only as far as the second exit to Šeberov. Since the New Year, they can safely continue another five kilometres to Průhonice in Central Bohemia. For motorists who do not purchase a year-round voucher, this opens up a convenient route to, among other things, the extensive shopping area in Čestlice.
