Eight prison guards from Valdice prison face charges of physically assaulting prisoners in their cells. They face up to five years in prison for abuse of power and two face up to 10 years in prison. The case was investigated by the General Inspectorate of Security Forces (GIBS), which said the guards assaulted prisoners in their cells in 2020 and 2021, Czech Television reported.
