Greenpeace activists will be prosecuted in custody, decided the District Court in Prievidza
This is the first time in the history of the Slovak Republic that environmental activists will be remanded in custody for a non-violent action during which no one was injured or property was damaged. This is an institute that is commonly used for extremely dangerous criminals who are at risk of continuing their criminal activities or are at risk of attempting to flee from justice. The Greenpeace activists who climbed a hauling tower at the Nováky mine site on Wednesday to protest against the mining and burning of coal there will be prosecuted in custody. This was decided on Sunday by the District Court in Prievidza.
