The Branisko tunnel was built several times more expensive. Twenty years later, the second half of the tunnel is not finished, and the part of the tunnel that is now operational is also in danger of being closed. The lifetime of the technology is coming to an end. The politician responsible for tunnelling the Branisko tunnel is going back into politics. Becoming an American Detroit in terms of car production is different from letting German companies assemble German cars in Martin and Bratislava. Detroit has worked itself out.
