The company built a house for the ex-mayor in exchange for operating radar in Varnsdorf, the prosecutor claims
The Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem has begun hearing the case of the Varnsdorf radars. The prosecutor accuses four people and one company for the dubious lease of the system, which, according to the indictment, obtained CZK 23 million illegally. In addition, according to the indictment, the company in return built a crude house for the town’s ex-mayor. Among the defendants in the case are former mayor Stanislav Horáček, former deputy mayor Josef Hambálek, Horáček’s companion Eva Petružálková, the managing director of Water Solar Technology (WST) Miloš Schubert and the company itself. According to the case file, the company operated the radars on the basis of a public contract and received money for each offence detected. They all refused to agree on a plea bargain.
