Germany refused to extradite Roztočil to the Czech Republic
The German courts have decided not to extradite Rostislav Roztočil, who should have served 13 years behind bars in the Czech Republic for the 30-year-old murder of an Egyptian student. Roztočil’s closest associate and friend, Philipp Janýr, confirmed the news to the daily Právo on Wednesday. Roztočil, who was convicted last year, found out about it this week. “On Tuesday, the Prosecutor General’s Office in Stuttgart informed Mr Roztočil that it had rejected the Czech Republic’s request for his extradition on 17 March,” Janýr said. He submitted a fax from the German prosecutor’s office as proof.
