Germany plans another €65 billion inflation relief package
Germany wants to relieve residents and businesses from soaring inflation and the associated high energy prices with another package of measures worth €65 billion (CZK 1.6 trillion). Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s ruling Social Democrats agreed with the coalition Greens and the liberal Free Democrats. Scholz told a press conference on Sunday that the government would use the funds it unexpectedly raised by taxing high energy prices to reduce energy prices.
