The government wanted a free ride on foreign infrastructure, Germany did not abolish the gas transport fee but raised it by 30%

Russian gas continues to flow into the Czech Republic. The high tariff for the use of the German network also contributes to this

Gas imports from Germany are quite volatile, ranging from 15 to 180 GWh on individual days. When the data are added up, we find that the ratio is roughly 60 to 40 percent in favour of supplies from Germany. The charge currently makes gas supplies to the Czech Republic more expensive by EUR 1.86/MWh, i.e. by 5 to 6 percent compared to the price on Western European exchanges. This week, Germany announced an increase in the fee for the second half of this year to €2.50 per MWh, making imports of Norwegian or US gas to the Czech Republic even more expensive.
