The tax office has liquidated a company that has paid billions into the state budget. Is a gangster state emerging in the Czech Republic?
FAU Přerov had assets worth hundreds of millions of crowns and had paid billions of crowns to the state budget in the past. It is clear from the insolvency register that the only reasons for the bankruptcy against FAU were tax calls for payment of tax that should have been paid by another entity and orders for the seizure of tax not yet determined, issued by various tax administration authorities. The courts in this case have already (non-finally) ruled that these interventions were illegal. The case was first highlighted by Hospodářské noviny, shortly after which another recording – allegedly of ANO chairman Andrej Babiš – appeared on the Twitter account of the anonymous group Šuman.
