Dysfunctional communism has cut off the progressive people’s electric car. EMA was ahead of its time
It was called the EMA and is still regarded as one of the examples of socialist planning that clipped the wings of an interesting car of Czechoslovak production. An electric car designed exclusively for the city was built in Brno in 1970 with the hope that it would be on the road in greater numbers in a few years. However, the initial optimism faded rather quickly and Czech brands returned to electric cars only many years later.
