Hygienists warned about pesticides in infant formula
Slovak sanitary officials announced on Tuesday that they have detected unauthorised levels of pesticide residues in two types of infant formula from Czech manufacturer Linea Nivnice. Regional sanitary authorities are taking measures to withdraw the affected products from the market, and the notification will also be entered into the European Rapid Alert System for Food (RASFF), the Office of the Chief Sanitary Officer of Slovakia said. Gabriel Slanicay, CEO of Linea Nivnice, said on Tuesday that the company will withdraw the goods in question from the market in cooperation with its customers. At the same time, the company is investigating how the above-limit amount of pesticide residues got into its products.
