The Fiala Institute has money from a foundation funded by “his” credit union
Last year, the Brussels-based investigative website Follow the Money reported on the connection between the government-run ODS and the Business Credit Union. Prime Minister Petr Fiala had a stake in the credit union that he did not disclose in his declaration of assets. Journalists suspected that companies linked to the credit union were circumventing the rules for financing the Brussels-based New Direction Foundation. Many prominent ODS members, from former health minister Luděk Rubáš to former MP Petr Tluchor, had their own deposits in PDZ. According to the website, the aforementioned businessman Bahbouh is implicated in suspicious transactions and the disappearance of 14 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine.
