Pilsen region to be led by man linked to law school scandal
The new governor of the Pilsen Region is expected to be Milan Chovanec, the vice-chair of the regional ČSSD and the current first and economic deputy to the governor, Milada Emmerová (ČSSD), on 9 September. She has already announced her resignation. She wants to devote herself fully to her work as a deputy in the Chamber of Deputies. The nomination of Chovanec was confirmed by the chairman of the regional committee of the ČSSD, Václav Votava. Milan Chovanec, however, has a scratch from the past. According to Martin Marek (SZ), he is allegedly on the list of suspicious graduates of the Pilsen law school. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in one year.
