EU Court of Justice fines Czech Republic CZK 57.6 million for failure to comply with whistleblower protection obligations
The Czech Republic must pay a fine of €2.3 million (CZK 57.6 million) to the European Commission for failing to meet its obligations under the Whistleblower Protection Directive. The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled. In a press release today, the court said it had also punished Germany, Luxembourg, Estonia and Hungary in connection with the directive. The action against the Czech Republic was brought by the European Commission in March 2023.
