Fixed deduction from foreclosures endangers debtors, says lawyer. It will help creditors, says the head of the association
The bailiffs are proposing the introduction of a fixed deduction, which would break the non-forfeitable amount and allow money to be deducted even from low-income debtors. The proposal is due to be discussed by the government, but five NGOs are protesting. According to Petra Kolářová, executive director of the Czech Association of Creditors, a fixed deduction is necessary. “Creditors are absolutely desperate,” she says. “A fixed deduction won’t solve it,” counters lawyer Pavla Aschermannová of Rubikon.
