CEZ received a subsidy of 7.5 billion for the rebuilding of the coal-fired power plant. The modernization will be completed by 2030
The CEZ power company will use a subsidy of EUR 308 million (approximately CZK 7.53 billion) to switch the coal-fired power plant in Mělník to a new gas-fired power source. The company received the money from the modernisation fund. The current coal-fired units of the power plant are to be replaced by a new steam-gas source with hot-water heat accumulation, Ekonomický deník reported. This is the largest subsidy from the modernisation fund so far.
