A patient had the wrong eye removed at a hospital in the Ružinov district of Bratislava. As a result of the botched procedure, the man lost both eyes. The doctor who performed the operation was considered a respected authority in the field. She no longer works with patients. The case is being investigated by the Slovak Health Care Supervision Authority and the police will also examine the circumstances.
