The dispatcher switched the switch incorrectly and destroyed the unique machine. The railway administration is to pay 87 million for this
The State Railway Administration has to pay CZK 87 million to the Railway Engineering Company (TSS) for a five-year-old accident in which a depot dispatcher in Lovosice accidentally sent an AWT shunting locomotive onto the wrong track. The locomotive then hit a special machine for repairing track and laying sleepers. The train dispatcher, Jolana J., had already been convicted for the accident four years ago.She pleaded guilty and agreed with the prosecutor on the amount of the sentence – she received a two-year suspended sentence. The damage to the 68-metre-long machine weighing 190 tonnes, belonging to TSS, was calculated by an expert contacted by the police at 87 million.
