He can’t leave home without crutches, but his pension was taken away
David Bátor, a seriously ill poet from Branka u Opavy, is experiencing a huge disappointment and a feeling of injustice. The man, who, among other things, suffers from incurable Bechterew’s disease associated with severe pain and moves only on crutches, has been receiving a first degree disability pension for six years. However, the Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSZ) has now withdrawn his pension.
