Czechs feel that money falls from the sky. We have become stowaways, says Hampl.
“It makes me nervous that ten years ago we were terrified that we would end up like the southern eurozone countries, but today, when we have deficits that are quite comparable to theirs, we are not worried,” says Mojmír Hampl, chairman of the National Budget Council. “We have gained the feeling that if the borrowing goes on for two years, it can continue for another five. Today, our state has to borrow even for current expenses,” he points out.
