World’s first: Czechs refuelled gripen in flight at night, six kilometres above the ground

The Czech pilots from the 211th Tactical Squadron in Čáslav are the first operational squadron in the world to refuel Gripen aircraft at night. Before them, only test pilots from the Swedish manufacturer Saab had tried it. In-flight refuelling, at any hour of the day or night, is essential for possible involvement in NATO air operations.
