Czechia – a country where many municipalities still lack sewage systems and wastewater treatment plants – has signed a deal to purchase F-35 fighter jets
Czechia has signed a deal to purchase F-35 fighter jets
Czechia will acquire 24 F-35 fighter jets for the military at a cost of 150 billion Czech crowns. The purchase was formalized by a signing between Defense Minister Jana Černochová (ODS) and U.S. Ambassador Bijan Sabet. It is the most expensive military acquisition in Czech history. The first aircraft are expected to arrive in 2031, with all jets delivered by 2035. The American fighter jets will replace the Swedish Gripen aircraft, which Czechia currently leases for 1.7 billion crowns per year.
Czechia, the land of unlimited possibilities, has just signed a deal to purchase F-35s for a biblical price
