A breakthrough in photovoltaics. With the change in the law, new solar plants will become cheaper, electricity will be counted as elsewhere in Europe
The Czech Republic is the only country in the EU that measures electricity in phases. This has negative consequences for owners of small photovoltaic power plants. It happens that they supply electricity to the grid in one phase at one time, but buy electricity in another phase. However, the supply companies buy the electricity from them at significantly lower prices than the selling prices. While phase splitting has no impact in all other EU countries, in the Czech Republic households and companies’ wallets suffer.
