You can lose property very quickly without knowing anything is about to happen. All it takes is for someone in your family to have a debt and be permanently registered in your apartment or house. But bailiffs can also go to places where the debtor does not reside. One day, the Svec’s went to work, and they couldn’t help but wonder. A bailiff showed up at the apartment and seized most of the couple’s possessions, including furniture, because of their son’s millions of dollars in debt. They were left with one bed and some dishes.
