Czech Republic calls on allies to fulfil commitments and fund ammunition for Ukraine
Czech Defence Minister Jana Černochová (ODS, ECR) called on European allies to contribute financially to the so-called Czech Munitions Initiative, as only four countries have so far fulfilled their financial commitments. The Czech Republic has been actively involved in addressing the urgent need for artillery ammunition for Ukraine through the so-called Czech Initiative. This campaign consists of securing artillery rounds from the world market. The initiative has secured financial commitments from 18 countries, mainly EU and NATO member states. The Czech Republic has taken on the role of facilitator, negotiating donor commitment memoranda and purchase agreements and then coordinating the logistical aspects of the supply.
