The wealth of Czech households exceeds €660 billion. But one fifth of them have nothing
The domestic economy is now in its fourth year of stagnation and has still not managed to return to its pre-recession level. One explanation for the mystery is thrifty households hoarding savings and not sending them into the economy. But such an interpretation contrasts with other reports, which in turn claim, for example, that sixty percent of Czechs are struggling to make ends meet. Where does savings come from, then, and who creates them? And how much money are the Czechs already sitting on?
