Police will delete passenger lists on planes. Only selected passengers will be checked
The current practice of handing over lists of all passengers on planes to the police amounts to the introduction of continuous and systematic surveillance of people, the Court of Justice of the European Union has found. The police will therefore now only monitor selected flights. Airlines will continue to hand over passenger lists, but the police will immediately delete those not selected. For selected flights, the data will only be kept for three years. The proposal will reduce the ability to detect risks in air transport, according to the Interior Ministry.
