The number of households below the poverty line is growing, single parents are most at risk
Poverty affects 9.5 % of households in the Czech Republic. However, the percentage of single parents is an alarming 36.3 percent. This is based on research by Radka Dudová from the National Institute SYRI and the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences. This is mainly due to a poorly set labour market, unsuitable conditions, inflation and the shame of applying for social benefits.
