Czech General’s Republic: 406 generals in service and retired
Over the past 25 years, a total of 406 men and women (two in particular) have been appointed to the rank of general in the Czechia. The rank of general can also be obtained in the services of firefighters, customs officers, prison guards or in the secret services. Between 1998 and 2023, 309 soldiers, 40 police officers, ten members of the secret services, 24 firefighters, six customs officers and 17 prison guards were appointed to the rank of general. This is according to information from the anti-corruption NGO Kverulant.org. It obtained the data following a request under the Freedom of Information Act from the Military Office of the President of the Republic.
