Every eighth child in the Czech Republic suffers from hunger and cannot even go to the school canteen. It separates him from the collective, says Ivana Tykač
“The situation of low-income families is worsening more dramatically than is being publicly discussed,” Ivana Tykač, co-founder and director of Women for Women, a nonprofit that finances school lunches for children, says in an interview. Nor do colleagues who handle accounting processes. Compared to last year, we are already registering 1,000 more children, and the school year has barely begun. And the applications are increasing. As of 30 August this year, we had 7747 applications for assistance.
