The government wants to send a Czech astronaut into space, but it doesn’t have the money – it plans to pay off the €80 million over three years

Government approves Czech astronaut mission, costs €80 million

The Czech Republic will pay the first CZK 400 million for the flight of its astronaut Aleš Svoboda into space this year. In total, it should cost about two billion crowns. The total amount should be paid within three years. The intention was approved by the government at Wednesday’s meeting. The transport ministry’s management expects that eight crowns of every invested crown will be returned to the economy.
