Only 43% of Czechs correctly understand the difference between credit and debit cards
Almost every adult in the Czech Republic carries a credit or debit card in their wallet. Although most of them think they know the difference between a credit card and a debit card, only 43% of them can actually distinguish between them correctly. This was revealed in a survey prepared for Home Credit by the research agency GfK. According to the survey, the term credit card is not new to Czechs. Almost all of the respondents have heard of it. However, significantly fewer people are familiar with debit cards, only 84% of respondents. Yet the reality in Czech wallets does not correspond much to the knowledge that people report.
