Court overturns record fine for Avast. But it confirmed that the company had illegally passed on user information

The Municipal Court in Prague confirmed at Tuesday’s hearing that Avast violated the law when it tracked which websites its users visited through its free antivirus program and passed this information to its subsidiary Jumpshot. But the fine of 351 million was overturned and the Data Protection Authority will have to re-assess it.
