Judicial officers are on strike over salaries. Thousands stay home for a day
Adjourned hearings, locked doors and unusual quiet – that’s what it will look like in some Czech courts on Wednesday. Officials are on strike for their higher salaries. They say they are paid so little that it is no longer affordable. The protest is meant to be a warning and will last one day. Radiožurnál reporters contacted courts across the Czech Republic and found out that at least some of the employees at each court are joining the protests. They are on strike in Zlín, for example.
