Miscarriage of justice? A life sentence for murder was the result of an illegal court action years ago.
Tempel first convinced the Regional Court in Pilsen that his crime could not be proven. Repeatedly. It acquitted him four times, when the case was heard by two different chambers in Pilsen. The Appeals Chamber of the High Court in Prague, however, always returned it for a new hearing, the last time with the proviso that it be transferred to the Central Bohemian Court. The latter had already decided on his guilt – after evaluating the same evidence as his colleagues in Pilsen – and he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
